Working together

Having a foundry cast your work obviously requires investment on many levels however you can rest assured that from your initial brief through to signing off the wax and metal prior to patination you will examine your work at every key stage.

Mould
The mould making process is always carried out in the most sensitive way to maintain the shape and texture of your piece and of course you are welcome to discuss with our team any important areas of your pattern that you wish to avoid seam lines on or more delicate areas you wish to draw to our attention.

Wax work
A wax will be produced from your mould that, if desirable, will be available for you to inspect, make amendments to and add a signature or edition number if required. You are welcome to work on the wax yourself or alongside one of our experienced team members.

Metal Work and Chasing
We have a wealth of knowledge and experience available to you from our metalwork team. They will fettle the raw bronze casting and work it until your piece is ready for your inspection. Additional metal work services are available such as welding, production of armatures or even detailed crafting of sculptural components (for example the tack on horses or bronze plinths for presentation purposes).

Patination
We pride ourselves on producing patinas that compliment the work of our clients and understand that this important process can be key to the success of a piece. Patination is the application of chemicals to the surface of the bronze, often with heat, to change the colour of the metal however there are now a varied range of applications and techniques that we are always working to develop in innovative ways as to provide choice to our clients. It is not an exact science so we can provide patination samples as a guide and as patinas can change from weathering over time we try to advise on the best patina to suit individual locations.
